Massport Announces New Chief People Officer
Sara Martinian brings over three decades of experience to new role
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today announced the appointment of Sara Martinian as Chief People Officer, bringing the Authority more than three decades of experience helping organizations build strong workplace cultures, develop leaders, and navigate growth and transformation.

Sara's extensive leadership experience and people-first approach will help strengthen our workforce and position Massport for continued success in the years ahead.”
As Chief People Officer, Martinian will lead Massport's human resources strategy, workforce development initiatives, organizational effectiveness, talent management, and employee engagement efforts. She will play a key role in supporting Massport's nearly 1,350 employees and ensuring the Authority continues to attract, develop, and retain a skilled and diverse workforce – an essential component of Massport's ability to operate safe, secure, and efficient transportation facilities while serving as a vital economic engine for New England.
Martinian is a strategic human resources executive and trusted advisor to CEOs and Boards with experience spanning start-ups, private equity-backed companies, Fortune 500 organizations, and complex global enterprises. Throughout her career, she has built high-performing teams, strengthened leadership development programs, and implemented talent strategies that drive organizational performance and long-term growth.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services from Fitchburg State College and holds several professional certifications, including Certified Executive Coach through Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching, MBTI Certified Assessor, EQ-i® and EQ-i® 360 Administrator, and Personality Dimensions Certified Facilitator.
