An investment in the future of our Commonwealth.
Our role as a good neighbor wouldn’t be complete without supporting the young people who live around us. We believe in the power of a summer job, a scholarship, a team sport, a boat on the harbor, an art class or a first look at the opportunities of a STEM career to inspire a brighter future and create a better world.
Summer Jobs
Each year, more than 300 Boston-area high school and college students gain job skills, life skills and earn a paycheck through the Massport Community Summer Jobs Program. Over 30 non-profit and community organizations employ students as camp counselors, office assistants, lifeguards, and in maintenance and landscaping.
The program helps civic and social service agencies by providing funds to support youth employment in Charlestown, Chelsea, East Boston, Revere, South Boston, Winthrop, Bedford, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln and Worcester.
Support for Youth Athletics and Enrichment Programs
We support local youth athletic programs in all of our neighboring communities, keeping kids active in baseball, football, hockey, lacrosse, sailing, soccer and softball.
We also fund youth enrichment programs in child care, tutoring, literacy and art at Labouré Center, Julie’s Family Learning Program, Salesian Boys & Girls Club, South Boston en Acción and the YMCA.
Aviation and Maritime STEM Expo
From engineers and electricians to analysts and technicians, Massport employs all kinds of practitioners of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the fields known as STEM. Each year we join with the FAA to invite students and educators from area schools to our STEM Expo. Here, they can see the range of STEM-related jobs in the aviation and maritime field.
