At the Airport

Security Information

Safety and security are our top priorities at Worcester Regional Airport. The airport is under surveillance by the Massachusetts State Police 24/7, and we partner with the Worcester Police Department, Worcester Fire Department, and other local law enforcement and emergency responders to keep the airport safe and secure.

All travelers should never leave their bags unattended. We ask the traveling public to help keep our airport safe by reporting any suspicious activity or items left unattended. See something, say something.

Security Checkpoint

The security checkpoint is operated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). TSA recommends that passengers arrive two hours prior to domestic departures to ensure adequate time for check-in, security screening, and travel to your gate. The security checkpoint normally opens one hour prior to the first departure of the day. Download the MyTSA app to see the estimated wait time at Worcester Regional Airport.

Firearms and weapons are prohibited at the security checkpoint. If you’re traveling with firearms, they must be unloaded and locked in a hard-sided container and transported as checked baggage only. Sparklers and other fireworks are also prohibited on the plane.

Carry-On Items

All items for carry-on must be screened at the security checkpoint. Liquids are allowed in carry-on luggage in accordance with the 3-1-1 format. All liquids must be packed in 3.4-ounce containers or less and placed inside a one-quart clear plastic zip-top bag. One bag per passenger is allowed. There are exceptions for baby food/formula, as well as items needed for special medical purposes.

If you’re traveling with batteries and electronic devices, please be aware that travel restrictions apply on certain batteries in carry-on and checked bags.
