Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) / Section 504 Program

Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is an integral component of Massport’s customer service initiative.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) is a civil rights law that requires Massport to ensure that persons with disabilities receive full and equal use of all of Massport’s public services and facilities. As a recipient of federal financial assistance, Massport’s programs and activities are also subject to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (“Section 504”).

Compliance with the ADA and Section 504 is an integral component of Massport’s customer service initiative. Full accessibility under the ADA and Section 504 also promotes customer service by making all ground transportation, airport and cruise terminals, and other Massport facilities user-friendly for all travelers while ensuring that all customers are treated with dignity and respect.

All public programs and services provided by Massport must operate in compliance with Title II of the ADA, Section 504, and their implementing regulations.

Massport has designated the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion/Compliance to coordinate efforts to comply with the ADA and Section 504, including investigating any complaints alleging noncompliance. Massport has adopted a complaint/grievance procedure to provide prompt and equitable resolution of complaints.
