Massport to Host Emergency Exercise at Hanscom Field
Airport will remain open during the exercise
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), alongside several mutual aid partners, will hold an emergency response exercise on Tuesday, October 28th at Hanscom Field (BED). This exercise is mandated by the FAA every three years. For the surrounding communities, please be aware that there will be emergency vehicles from various agencies in the vicinity.
This drill will test the coordination, communication and response in the event of a major incident at BED. A number of mutual aid partners will be taking part in the drill alongside Massport Fire Rescue, including the Bedford, Lexington, Concord, Lincoln and Waltham fire and police departments, State Police, Hanscom Air Force Base Fire Department, Armstrong Ambulance, Action Ambulance and Boston MedFlight,
The airport will remain open throughout the drill.
