Request for Proposals - Design Concept For a 9/11 Airport Memorial

The Massachusetts Port Authority is inviting proposals for conceptual design for an appropriate Logan Airport Memorial to acknowledge the events of September 11, 2001 ("9/11") and the profound impacts of those events on the Logan Airport community. The memorial is intended as the Logan Airport 9/11 Memorial. An on-airport site has been identified. The Authority is inviting submissions for a design concept that is site-appropriate and that responds to the project's goals, objectives, and requirements as described herein.
The design competition is open to all including artists, design professionals, and the general public. The Authority will not compensate the winning entrant for the design concept; however, it is anticipated that the winning entrant will participate in subsequent design and construction phases and then will be compensated accordingly. Submission materials are required to assist the Authority in the selection process and these materials are described in Section H. PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS of this document.
The Authority must receive all proposal submissions no later than 4 P.M. on Monday, December 1, 2003. The Authority will not accept late submissions.
To assist entrants in the preparation of their submission, the Authority is making reference materials available.
