BOSTON – The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) is expecting increased passenger travel at Boston Logan International Airport during April as schools close for vacation, the region laces up for the 115th running of the Boston Marathon, and the airport enters its 20 straight month of passenger growth. Massport advises travelers to check with their airline for first hand flight information and to allow themselves additional time to get to the airport.

The April school vacation is one of the busiest periods for Logan's parking garages. As an alternative to driving to and from Boston Logan, Massport offers convenient express coach bus service from Braintree (south), Framingham (west), Peabody and Woburn (north). Full service bus terminals and secure parking are available at each location. Senior citizen discounts are available, children under 12 and active military personnel traveling in uniform ride for free.

To help families on vacation and reduce private automobile trips to the airport, Massport is offering a special Logan Express parking rate for April vacation. Vehicles entering Logan Express parking lots between April 11 and April 30 will be eligible for a discounted rate of $22 for a 2-14 day parking stay. Vehicles staying longer than 14 days will retain the discount but additional days will be at the regular $11 daily/$66 weekly rate. Vehicles entering the lot before April 11 and exiting during the discount time frame will not be eligible for the discounted rate. Parking may be limited in Framingham. For more information on

Boston Logan was ranked as the "Easiest Airport to Get To" by the business travel website, aviation.com for the variety of transportation options available to passengers. These include Logan Express, airport courtesy shuttles, water taxis, and the MBTA Blue Line and Silver Line service between Logan and South Station and the Red Line.

With Logan's cell phone waiting lot, meeting an arriving flight no longer means circling the airport roadways. The lot is open 24 hours a day and is conveniently located just minutes from the terminals at its new location located at the intersection of Hotel Drive and Service Road, near the airport Gulf Station. Drivers are asked to stay no longer than 30 minutes and to wait with their vehicles. Commercial vehicles are prohibited from parking at the cell lot. Drivers can call 800-23-LOGAN for up-to-date airline and parking information.

As an added customer service, Massport makes parking updates available via email based on dates of travel. When parking conditions change, the customer who subscribed for updates during that time period receives an email update. In addition to presenting parking conditions, the updates display "Proceed To" directions using Google Maps.
