Northwest Flies to Terminal A on March 31
Vacating Terminal E is first step for Merger with Delta Air Lines

The Massachusetts Port Authority today announced that Northwest Airlines will vacate Boston Logan International Airport's Terminal E on the night of March 30 and, starting March 31, all departures and domestic arrivals for the airline will be at Terminal A. Northwest's two daily flights from Amsterdam will continue to arrive at Terminal E, where Logan' s Customs and Border Protection and Immigration facilities are located.

In addition, all Northwest check-in positions will be consolidated with Delta's, and customers with tickets for flights operated by Northwest should check in at Delta's curbside, kiosk or counter locations in Terminal A. The move is part of Delta Air Line's merger with Northwest to create the world's largest airline. The combined airline will be the largest at Logan with more than 20 percent of the market. The merger process is expected to be complete in 2010.

Boston Logan serves as the gateway to the New England region and offers nonstop service to 72 domestic and 31 international destinations and in 2008 handled 26.1 million passengers. Boston Logan is the Air Line Pilot Association's Airport of the Year for 2008 because of its commitment to safety. Over the past decade, more than $4.4 billion was committed to a modernization program that includes new terminals, parking facilities, roadways and airport concessions, and transformed the airport into a world-class 21st Century facility.
