The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) is sponsoring the 4th Annual Logan Airport Job Fair for the residents of the communities that surround Massport’s facilities. The Logan Airport Job Fair will be held on Monday, March 6, 2000 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Hyatt Harborside Conference Center & Hotel at Logan Airport.
More than 40 airport companies will be represented at the job fair. The jobs available include full-time, part-time and seasonal positions. Some of the positions airport companies are looking to fill include: customer service representative, receptionist, bus driver, food-service staff, security guard, ticket counter agent, car rental sales representatives and many more.
"Our neighbors must share in the economic benefits that come with a major international airport. Together, we must work to ensure that these jobs stay here in the local communities," said Massport Executive Director and CEO Virginia Buckingham. "With quality jobs come economic independence and confidence, two vital ingredients to success. I am pleased that Massport can help local residents achieve success."
Massport is working with The Work Place, a public-private partnership between the Mayor’s Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC) and Community Services Department and Jewish Vocational Services. The Work Place provides employment resources and information to employers and job seekers and has helped coordinate three highly successful Logan Airport Job Fairs.
"The Work Place is pleased to again partner with Massport in the coordination of one of the largest job fairs involving Logan Airport vendors. Last year’s job fair drew quality candidates whose skills closely matched the needs of the partcipating vendors," said Bonnie Akerson, Business Development Associate at The Work Place. "We had an extremely successful event last year, and we are expecting that this year, due in part to an excellent selection of vendors, will draw a talented group of job seekers excited about the possibility of gaining employment at Logan Airport."
