The 128 Business Council has announced that a new shuttle bus service, the MetroNorth Shuttle, is now serving commuters from the Anderson Regional Transportation Center (ARTC) in Woburn. The ARTC is the home of Massport’s Woburn Express bus service to Logan Airport, the Woburn stop on the Lowell MBTA Commuter Rail Line, and the Amtrak Downeaster train from New Hampshire and Maine.
Designed to make suburban commuting easier than driving, the peak-hour MetroNorth Shuttle will provide connections from the ARTC to popular workplace, commercial, and residential locations in Woburn, Burlington, and Lexington. The MetroNorth Shuttle will serve the following areas in Woburn: Commerce Way, Mishawum Road, Olympia Avenue, Windingwood Road, Salem Street, Washington Street, and Cummings Park. In Burlington, the shuttle will serve: Wayside Road, Van de Graaf Drive, Bedford Street, Lahey Clinic, and Mall Road. Lexington service will include Hartwell Avenue.
The Shuttle is funded in part by the Boston Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and private businesses, and will be operated by the 128 Business Council working with carrier M & L Transit Systems. The route map, schedule, and other shuttle details can be found on the Council’s website at www.128bc.org.
The 128 Business Council is a public/private non-profit Transportation Management Association dedicated to improving suburban mobility in the Route 128/West region. The Council runs several shuttles from transit locations to suburban worksites and residential complexes as well as college transportation. The Council, founded in 1987, also works with state agencies and municipalities on improving suburban mobility and increasing commuter options.
