The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today announced that it has filed the 2002 Logan International Airport Environmental Data Report (EDR) with the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office (MEPA). To expand public access to the document, the complete EDR is now available on the Massport web site by clicking here.
The EDR provides a snapshot of activity levels at Logan in 2002 as well as a status report on the planning, design and construction of airport projects. The EDR also assesses 2002 environmental conditions and tracks Massport's mitigation commitments.
The 2002 EDR demonstrates that all reported and monitored areas of impact are down for 2002, consistent with the sustained downturn in airport operations. Aircraft operations at Logan Airport in 2002 were comparable to operations in 1989, and well below forecasted levels contained in the 1999 ESPR.
The EDR filing is followed by a public comment period that lasts through November 6, 2003. Comments on the EDR should be directed to the Secretary of Environmental Affairs and should reference the Logan Environmental Data Report - EOEA # 3247
