The Massachusetts Port Authority has reduced the fee charged to water transportation companies from $1.50 per passenger to $0.75 per passenger to support alternatives to driving when traveling to and from Logan International Airport. The water services which currently serve Logan Airport are the Water Shuttle, Harbor Express, and the Water Taxi.

The reduction in the fee is expected to help these services maintain first rate operations and will be effective August 1, 2000. The fee, charged to the operators, pays for Massport's upkeep of the dock facilities and the bus shuttle service from the dock to the airport's five terminals.

The Airport Water Shuttle provides service every 15 minutes to and from Rowes Wharf, the Harbor Express operates to and from Quincy, and the City Water Taxi serves Boston Harbor on an on-call basis. These services provide quick and easy alternatives to driving to Logan Airport.
