The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has announced that Carl Sciple has been appointed interim director of the Massport’s Capital Programs Department. Mr. Sciple replaces Christopher Gordon who is leaving the Authority after ten years to pursue opportunities in the private sector.
Mr. Sciple has been with Massport since 1985 and is currently the Deputy Director of Capital Programs. His responsibilities included construction at Logan International Airport, the public terminals at Boston’s seaport, the Tobin Bridge, Hanscom Field, Worcester Airport and numerous waterfront properties. Prior to joining Massport, Mr. Sciple served in the US Army Corps of Engineers for twenty-four years. Mr. Sciple is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and he received a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and is a registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Construction Manager.
