Navy Veteran to be Director of Diversity
BOSTON -- Kenn Turner joined Massport’s senior leadership team on Monday, June 24th, as Director of Diversity & Inclusion/Compliance.
Mr. Turner has a distinguished background in the public and private sectors as well as an illustrious and decorated career with the U.S. Navy. He worked for Hasbro, Inc. and Hallmark Cards, Inc. and was a Senior Vice President of AOL Time Warner. Most recently he was the Commonwealth’s Deputy Secretary for Administration & Finance for the Department of Veterans’ Services.
As a US Navy Officer, Mr. Turner served for six years on active duty in the submarine force and for 20 years in the reserves. He retired as a highly decorated Captain.
He is a graduate of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He resides with his family in Roslindale. At Massport, Mr. Turner will be responsible for directly managing 11 people in the Compliance and Diversity & Inclusion functions.

Boston Logan, 15 minutes from the intersection of Route 128 and I-90 and five minutes from downtown Boston, serves as the gateway to the New England region and offers nonstop service to 75 domestic and 33 international destinations and in 2012 handled 29.3 million passengers. Boston Logan is the Air Line Pilot Association’s Airport of the Year for 2008 because of its commitment to safety. Over the past decade, the airport spent $4.5 billion on a modernization program that includes new terminals, public transportation access, parking facilities, roadways and airport concessions, and has been transformed into a world-class 21st Century facility. The airport generates $7 billion in total economic impact each year.
Each year, more than one million tons of cargo pass through Massport’s terminals in the Port of Boston, which provide the shipping facilities New England needs to be a major international trader. Cruiseport Boston is a favorite port-of-call with cruise passengers, a record 380,000 passengers used the facility in 2012.
