Free Parking at Worcester Regional Airport Extended Until Fall 2022

WORCESTER – As the busy summer travel season gets going, the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) is pleased to announce the extension of free parking at Worcester Regional Airport (ORH) though September 30, 2022.

“We are excited to welcome more travelers back this summer season,” said Airport Director Andy Davis. “By offering free parking, we hope we can ease the burden a little bit for people and make the overall travel experience less stressful.”

Currently, ORH is home to three major airlines –JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines. The airlines offer five daily nonstop flights including JetBlue’s two daily flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and one daily flight to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Delta’s daily flight to New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and American Airlines’ additional daily nonstop service to JFK. These flights not only offer travelers direct access to New York and Florida, but also provide opportunities to connect to hundreds of additional destinations throughout the U.S. and across the world.

Last year, ORH celebrated its 75th anniversary. In May 1946, the airport formerly known as Worcester Municipal Airport was approved by the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission to provide commercial air service. Over the years, the airport on top of Tatnuck Hill has transformed and grown. Since Massport took ownership of the airport in 2010, the Authority has invested more than $100 million in improvements, including a Category III Instrument Landing System, completed in 2018. Two new jet bridges were installed in 2019, doubling the number to four. And in 2020, Massport took advantage of the reduced passenger activity to resurface half of the airport’s primary runway and install energy-efficient LED runway signs using FAA funding. These investments will allow ORH to accommodate more flights and serve more passengers in the future.
