The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority has closed the I-90 Connector Tunnel indefinitely.
Until the connector is reopened, the Ted Williams Tunnel will NOT allow passengers traveling to and from Boston Logan International Airport a direct link to I-90 and I-93.
Passengers are being detoured to alternate routes. Because of these significant traffic changes, Massport is urging all Logan travelers to use public transportation. Buses have been added to Massports Logan Express service in Woburn, Braintree and Framingham. Massport also has increased the frequency of its #22, #33 and #66 Shuttle Bus service between the Logan Water Shuttle Dock, the Blue Line Airport Station and all airport terminals. The MBTA has increased service on the Blue Line, Silver Line and Commuter Boat. For details on road detours and alternative routes see below:
I-90 Connector Tunnel:
The Massachusetts Turnpike has announced that I-90 East and I-90 West through the I-90 Connector Tunnel to Logan Airport is closed from I-93 in Boston to the Ted Williams Tunnel as well as the westbound I-90/Ted Williams Tunnel ramp at exit 24 in South Boston to I-93 North and South.
Until the tunnel is reopened, Massport is urging travelers who normally use the Ted Williams Tunnel to and from Boston Logan International Airport to use alternative forms of transportation. Travelers are advised to allow for extra travel time.
Other alternative transportation information can be found on the MBTA Web site. The MBTA also has posted Ted Williams Tunnel Closure Plan Updates.

LOGAN TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES
Taxi/Ride-Share
Because of heavy congestion during the Connector Tunnel closure, passengers may experience longer than normal waits for taxi service departing Logan Airport, especially during peak periods. Taxis are available at the ARRIVAL level of all terminals. As a courtesy to others and to ease taxi wait times, Massport urges everyone to share taxis with their fellow customers whenever possible while traffic emergency conditions continue.
Logan Express:
Logan Express provides service every half hour between Logan Airport Woburn, Braintree and Framingham and hourly service to Peabody. Buses have been added to meet the anticipated increase in demand and maintain the posted schedule. Due to increased ridership, parking may be limited during peak periods particularly in the Braintree and Framingham lots. Riders are urged to make alternative arrangements for drop off and pick up. Expect moderate traffic delays.
