From Eastie Pride Day to the South Boston Street Festival to Boston Shines to holiday tree lightings, Massport has been pleased to participate in and sponsor community organizations and activities that bring residents together, support children and families, and help to strengthen our neighboring communities.
In addition to financial contributions to neighborhood organizations, Massport employees participate in a number of community activities. In the spring, Massport employees participate in the City of Boston’s annual neighborhood clean up called Boston Shines. At Thanksgiving, Massport employees provide food donations to three community programs: Crossroads Family Shelter in East Boston; Winthrop Community Food Pantry; and South Boston Community Health Center Food Pantry. Combined, these organizations serve more than 500 families and individuals each month, and their help can mean the difference between paying for heat and having a meal on the table.
In the fall, children in need ages 4-17 start the school year with a new backpack filled with school supplies and new clothes thanks to the generosity of Massport employees.

Making Holidays Bright
Massport organizes students from area elementary schools to bring holiday cheer to travelers at Logan Airport’s Terminal A as part of its annual holiday music program. Each year, Massport invites students from neighboring communities to sing.
Massport Means Business
Massport is taking steps to create more business opportunities at Logan Airport for East Boston companies. In 2016, Massport, the East Boston Chamber of Commerce and East Boston Main Streets co-hosted the MASSPORT MEANS BUSINESS initiative to learn more about doing business with Massport.
In 2015, Logan International Airport generated $5.5 million in economic activity for East Boston businesses. Massport’s mission is to ensure that East Boston businesses have every opportunity to thrive by partnering with us to serve our passengers, airlines, security and maintenance needs. Massport needs a variety of services and supplies to operate including products like software, tools, paint, uniforms, building maintenance supplies, as well as services like moving, snow removal, office and uniform cleaning, and landscaping needs are all on Massport’s purchasing lists.
Through MASSPORT MEANS BUSINESS, local employers are able to: Register to receive information on upcoming Massport needs for goods and services; receive detailed information on Massport bid procedures; learn about the type of products and services Massport typically buys.
'Pulling for Hope"
Massport joins JetBlue in hosting the American Cancer Society’s inaugural “Pulling for Hope” plane pull at Logan Airport. Hundreds of people compete in teams to pull a 100,000-pound jet 24 feet in the fastest time to raise money for cancer research.
