The tremendous growth in Logan Airport passengers — from 30 to 40 million passengers in the last five years — has supported economic growth in the Commonwealth. However, the rapid increase in passengers in a short period is straining the airport’s roadways and curbs. At the same time, changes in how passengers travel to and from the airport has contributed to Logan Airport’s traffic challenges.
Adding centralized App Ride pickup/dropoff areas and increasing HOV options will eliminate over 3 million vehicles annually from the tunnels, and Route 1A, reduce congestion on neighborhood and airport roadways, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Our plan is better for our passengers. Better for our neighboring communities. And better for the environment.
