Massport and the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce will host a special breakfast forum for Chelsea small-business owners entitled Massport Means Business for Neighborhood Entrepreneurs, on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM at the Sheraton Four Points, 407 Squire Road, Revere. The informational forum will provide a comprehensive look at the process Massport employs to contract for goods and services, and the procedures businesses should take to be included in the selection. Representatives from Massport who handle purchasing, construction, and leasing will be on hand to answer questions as a means to demystify the process. Over the next nine to twelve months, Massport will be conducting competitive procurements for the following goods and services: Auto parts and repairs, sand, salt, tires, coffee products and services, and landscaping services for various properties in East Boston, South Boston, Hanscom Airport, and the Tobin Bridge. Routinely other diverse operational needs come up for renewal including, computers (both hardware and software), catering, photography, paint, uniforms, and hardware stores.
