Massport Sponsors Toys For Tots Donation Site in South Boston

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) proudly announces its expanded sponsorship of the National Reserves Toys for Tots program with the establishment of a South Boston drop-off site. The Paul J. Conley container terminal at the corner of Farragut Road and East First Street will serve as the official community drop-off center in South Boston.

"Toys for Tots is a terrific charitable program to help needy children all over this country," said Craig Coy, Massport CEO. "We are thrilled to partner with them and to help make this holiday season special for so many children."

Since 1947, when Toys for Tots was created, the goal has been to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy children that will help inspire them to grow into responsible, productive community leaders.

In addition to hosting the official South Boston collection center location, Massport State Police at Logan Airport sponsor a Toys for Tots drive. This year, Massport is proud to sponsor a 100% match to monetary donations made by its employees.

In 2003, the U.S. Marines distributed 15 million toys to 6.5 million needy children as a result of the Toys for Tots program.
