The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today announced that it has filed the Draft 2005 L.G. Hanscom Field Environmental Status & Planning Report (ESPR). The Draft ESPR is being submitted in accordance with the provisions of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA), G.L. Chapter 30, Sections 62-62H and its implementing regulations, 301 Code of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR) 11.00. with the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office (MEPA).
The Draft ESPR responds to the May 31, 2005 Certificate of the Secretary of the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs on the April 2005 Proposed Scope for the 2005 ESPR and the November 7, 2005 Secretary's Certificate on the Notice of Project Change for the 2005 ESPR.
Massport has requested an extension of the public comment period to approximately 60 days, with the close of public comments on February 8, 2007. The MEPA consultation session is tentatively scheduled for January 23, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. in the Civil Air Terminal (second floor) at Hanscom Field, 200 Hanscom Drive, Bedford, MA 01730. Massport has also scheduled four public meetings prior to the close of comments. These technical meetings are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on January 4, January 10, January 11, and January 18, 2007, in the Civil Air Terminal at Hanscom Field.
