In addition to being New England's premier transportation center, Boston Logan International Airport houses a public art display showcasing a variety of sculptures, paintings, and mosaics located throughout the terminals and the Central Parking Garage. The public art program seeks to exemplify the skills of regional artists and is funded as part of major construction projects at Logan. The next time you are passing through Logan, allow yourself some extra time to view the following pieces:

Terminal C

    George Rhoads, Ithaca, NY
    November, 1985
    Located behind the ticket counter and in the Kidport play area are two 9 foot square glass cubes which contain a series of ramps, bridges, runways, and chutes which transport lacrosse and bowling balls through a variety of stunts.

  • Mirror Sculptures
    James Seawright, New York, NY
    August, 1985
    Located on the North and South interior walls, this large wall of nine inch mirrors form a viewing surface reflecting images at a variety of angles.

Central Parking Garage

    New England Atlantic - Click for Enlargement/DescriptionLocated on the floors in the new elevated walkways that connect the new Central Parking Garage with Terminals A and E, this mosaic covers over 35,000 sq. ft. and is the largest piece of public artwork in New England.
Water Transportation Area
  • Water Transportation Dock
    William Wainwright, Brookline, MA
    December, 1982
    This outdoor sculpture, next to the Water Transportation Terminal, provides a variety of different wind wheels whose movements create a pattern of activity reflecting travel.

  • Transported
    Mela Lyman, Cambridge, MA
    November, 1993
    Located on the interior ceiling of the Water Transportation Terminal, this twelve-panel painting forms a rotunda containing aquatic scenes in blue and green.
