Waterfront Planning East Boston   Waterfront Planning Charlestown East Boston South Boston     Massport has undertaken the development of a Strategic Plan for its waterfront Properties in the Jeffries Point section of East Boston. The project area includes the Massport Shipyard and East Boston Piers 1-5. The plan seeks to build upon the great success of the award-winning East Boston Piers Park, built by Massport and opened in 1995. The process has depended on community input and coordination with the Boston Redevelopment Authority master plan effort for the entire East Boston Neighborhood. The culmination of Massport's Strategic Planning endeavor will be the issuance of a Request for Proposals for the development of Pier 1 and the associated backlands.
