Massport Stimulus Projects
The following projects have been selected to receive federal stimulus funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 .
MPA Project No. L582, Rehabilitation of Runway 9-27
MPA Project No. L795, Install Centerline Lights on Taxiway A
MPA Project No. H198, Rehabilitate Taxiways M & G
MPA Project No. M0371, Berth Electrification, Boston Fish Pier
Description of projects receiving stimulus funding through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Stimulus Program:
MPA Project No. L582, Rehabilitation of Runway 9-27
- Location: Boston-Logan International Airport, East Boston, MA.
- Description: This is a milling and paving project which will resurface the asphalt pavement on Runway 9-27.
Construction began in July 2009 and will be completed in December 2009.
- Estimated Cost: $13,500,000
- Stimulus Funding: $13,500,000
MPA Project No. L795, Install Centerline Lights on Taxiway A
- Location: Boston-Logan International Airport, East Boston, MA.
- Description: This project will install in-pavement lights along the centerline of Taxiway A in the terminal area to enhance visibility for pilots at night and during poor weather. Construction is scheduled
from June 2009 to October 2009.
- Estimated Cost: $1,500,000
- Stimulus Funding: $1,500,000
MPA Project No. H198, Rehabilitate Taxiways M & G
- Location:L.G. Hanscom Field, Bedford, MA.
- Description: This project will rehabilitate the pavements of Taxiway M and Taxiway G and improve the drainage in that area. Construction is scheduled from
September 2009 to December 2009.

Project receiving stimulus funding through the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (Mass DEP) as part of the EPA program to reduce diesel pollution:
MPA Project No. M0371, Berth Electrification, Boston Fish Pier
- Location: Boston Fish Pier, South Boston, MA.
- Description: This is a berth electrification project to construct ship-to-shore power stations for fishing boats and visiting vessels at the Boston Fish Pier. Construction is scheduled from September 2009 to December 2009.
- Estimated Cost: $500,000
- EPA DERA Grant Program: $400,000
- Stimulus Funding: $100,000
