Sumner Tunnel to Close for the Next Two Weekends

The Sumner Tunnel will be closed for the next two weekends beginning at 10:00 pm on Friday, September 21, 2007 through 5 am on Sunday, September 23, 2007 and continuing on Friday, September 28, 2007 through Monday, October 1, 2007.
The weekend work allows ceiling repairs to continue for a shorter duration with less nighttime disruption to drivers.
One-lane daytime closures may need to take place in the tunnel Monday through Thursday to continue the work. When the Sumner Tunnel is closed, motorists destined for I-93 North, from Logan Airport, should use the Ted Williams Tunnel (I-90 West), and take I-90 Exit 24 to I-93 North. |
