The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today announced that Spirit Airlines will relocate their Boston Logan operations to the American pier at Terminal B effective April 1, 2008. Spirit Airlines is currently located at the US Airways pier at Terminal B. Starting April 17, Spirit Airlines will begin offering daily nonstop flights to their large Fort Lauderdale hub from Boston Logan on Airbus 319 aircraft. A second daily flight will begin on May 1. Spirit is a low cost carrier and currently offers two daily flights from Boston to Myrtle Beach with continuing service to Fort Lauderdale. With Spirit Airlines new nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale, Boston passengers will be able to connect to 23 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean including: Aruba; Cancun, Mexico; Cayman Islands; Freeport, Grand Bahamas; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Jamaica’s Kinston and Montego Bay; Lima, Peru; Managua, Nicaragua; Nassau and San Salvador, Bahamas; Panama City, Panama; Port au Prince, Haiti; Puerto Rico’s Aguadilla, Ponce and San Juan; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; San Jose, Costa Rica; San Pedro Sula, Honduras; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; St Maarten, Netherlands Antilles; and, St Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
