The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) is preparing for a busy Thanksgiving holiday at Boston Logan International Airport and is encouraging passengers to allow for additional time to arrive at Logan and board their aircraft. Travelers should monitor www.flylogan.com for updated airline information and to familiarize themselves with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) carry-on luggage regulations to help lessen delays at security checkpoints.

For travelers unfamiliar with Logan Airport, Massport offers web-based animated tours of the airport, terminals, and access to and from the airport. Known as Airport Wayfinder™, the program uses the latest Internet streaming video technologies to welcome and orient passengers to Boston Logan in five languages: English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Airport Wayfinder provides travelers with convenient ways to obtain airport information and relieve some of the stress of traveling before they fly. The program gives travelers a perspective of the airport and locations of everything from concessions to baggage claim. For travelers driving to the airport, ample parking will be available and for those who do not plan to drive to the airport, Massport is adding Logan Express buses to accommodate increased ridership from suburban Boston. Full-service bus terminals and parking are available south of the city in Braintree, west of the city in Framingham, and north of the city in Woburn and Peabody. Children under 12 ride free and active military personnel traveling in uniform may ride for free on any Logan Express service. For those travelers taking the T, additional courtesy buses will be added to the on-airport routes to the MBTA station to cover increased ridership on the MBTA Blue Line. Massport recommends people meeting arriving passengers, use Logan’s cell phone waiting lot to help reduce roadway and curb-side congestion. The lot is open 24 hours a day and is located on Harborside Drive, just before the Harborside Hyatt Hotel, just minutes from the airport’s terminals. Drivers are asked to stay no longer than 30 minutes and to wait with their vehicles at all times. Commercial vehicles are prohibited from parking at the cell lot
