Melrose Resident Kelly Strong Named Massport Director of Labor Relations

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) announced today that Kelly Strong has been appointed Director of Labor Relations/Labor Counsel by the Massport Board. As Director of Labor Relations/Labor Counsel, Mr. Strong is responsible for all matters related to each of Massport’s nine collective bargaining agreements. His duties include negotiating and properly administrating the agreements, as well as overseeing the resolution of all union labor disputes.
In April 2007, Mr. Strong became Acting Director of the Labor Relations Department at Massport. He was the department’s Deputy Director for three years. Prior to joining Massport in 2004, he was a Senior Labor Relations Representative for The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and prior to that was a labor and employment attorney with a Boston firm. Mr. Strong also worked for the Law Departments of both the City of Revere and the City of Chelsea.
Mr. Strong has a Bachelor of Arts from the Military College of Vermont at Norwich University, and served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps (reserves) from 1993 to 1999. He received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1999. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the Boston Chamber of Commerce Future Leaders.
Mr. Strong lives in Melrose with his wife Terese.
