News   More Information Y2K Readiness     Massport's Year 2000 compliance program is substantially complete As of September 30, 1999, 100% of Massport's mission critical systems are compliant, and overall system compliance efforts are substantially complete. All mission critical systems supporting the Authority's operations at Logan Airport, the Tobin Bridge, Hanscom Airfield, and Port facilities are compliant. The compliance status of about 97% of these systems has also been independently tested or otherwise validated. Massport has been working on Year 2000 readiness since 1996, and has undertaken a comprehensive effort to identify and prepare for potential Year 2000 problems which could impact the Authority's operations. The Year 2000 Program Office has undertaken detailed analyses of operations, a system compliance program involving over 300 systems, and a third party evaluation program involving hundreds of vendors, suppliers and business partners. In addition to its system compliance and 3rd party outreach and evaluation efforts, Massport is also preparing contingency plans for all of our facilities. Contingency plans have been developed for all of the Authority's operating facilities, including Logan Airport, and quality assurance testing has begun. Francis Anglin, Massport's Director of Information Services and Telecommunications, said, "Our comprehensive approach to meeting the Year 2000 challenge, which included analyses of those business processes, systems and outside parties upon which we rely, makes us very confident that the Authority's facilities and operations will continue to function safely through the Year 2000 transition period."
