Massport Chairman Accepts Craig P. Coy's Resignation

May 31, 2006

Massport Chairman John A. Quelch announced today that the Board has accepted the resignation of CEO Craig P. Coy effective June 30.

"Craig Coy has served the people of the Commonwealth with energy and integrity over the last four years. He took the reigns of Massport at a time of uncertainty, but, through exemplary leadership and professionalism, helped to bring further fiscal and management discipline to the agency," said Chairman Quelch. "The entire Massport board wishes Craig and his family the very best."

As CEO of Massport, Craig Coy has focused on enhancing safety and security at Massport's facilities while still raising the level of customer service, developing innovative solutions to industry-wide problems, and building relationships and partnerships at the local, state and federal levels.

Under Coy's leadership, Massport changed the way the Authority managed its business units. To create an environment where Massport's tenants and partners could better thrive, Coy instituted a new corporate culture that included holding the operating units -- aviation, maritime and bridge -- to profit and loss responsibilities. The changes resulted in a return to pre-9/11 passenger levels at Logan and growth in cruise business and increased cargo volumes.

"Overseeing Massport has been challenging, exciting and at times difficult. But, throughout my tenure at Massport, I've been constantly sustained by the enthusiasm and commitment of the people I've had the honor to work with," said Coy.
