Works By Winthrop Artists Hang in Logan Terminals; Massport to host reception in their honor

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today announced that it will host an exhibition by the Winthrop Art Association throughout the month of August. With a special artists reception on Monday, August 15, 6:00 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. in the International Gateway, Terminal E. More than 50 pieces of original art currently grace the walls and halls of both Terminal A and E and include oils, pastels, watercolors, cyberart, photography and other works on paper.
We are delighted to have such talented artists across the bay, said Craig P. Coy, Massport CEO. Massports partnership with the Winthrop Art Association enables us to highlight local talent. The overwhelming positive response to the quality of work displayed in our terminals reflects a true appreciation by our customers, continued Coy.
Many of the featured artists are well known not only in Winthrop but also enjoy a following outside of Winthrop. Featured artists and their work include Matthew Martellis eye-catching real-life acrylics, Beverly Barisanos unique paintings on hand-made paper, Patricia Bruen Tacellis striking watercolor portraits and Dawn Mahoneys intricately detailed pen and ink drawings, to list a few.
If planning to attend the August 15th reception, all parties must notify the Winthrop Art Association President, Dawn Mahoney at 617-846-2644 in advance. All individuals attending the reception are required to submit their social security number and date of birth by August 8, 2005 to receive security clearance for this event. Attendees must also present picture identification at the time of the reception to receive a badge and escort through the TSA security checkpoint.
