Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) CEO Craig P. Coy recently paid visits to the South Boston Neighborhood House Day Care Center at Moakley Park and South Bostons Tynan Community Center. The Neighborhood House and Tynan Community Center are two of ten agencies in South Boston to participate in Massports Community Summer Jobs Program (CSJP).
Since its inception in 1991, the summer job program has enabled thousands of high school and college students to realize the benefits of meaningful employment while sharing their experiences with the local community. This summer, South Boston received $92,000 in grants from Massport to fund 45 positions in ten agencies. In total, Massport provided grants totaling $375,000 to fund over 257 summer jobs throughout East Boston, South Boston, Charlestown, Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, Bedford, Concord, Lexington and Lincoln, MA.
