 News Signature Flight Support Breaks Ground on New Executive Terminal at Logan International Airport; Celebrating another modernization milestone August 25, 2005 The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) announced today that Signature Flight Support will break ground this week on a new $8 million general aviation facility at Logan International Airport. Signature Flight Support recently executed a ten-year ground lease with Massport under which Signature will operate the Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at Logan until 2016. Signatures new terminal will serve as a gateway to welcome corporate and general aviation travelers to Boston. The new facility, which is scheduled for completion in July 2006, will boast a 12,000 square foot, two-story executive terminal and an 8,800 square foot repair shop. Inside the facility, in addition to standard amenities, the executive terminal will include a private VIP Center with separate street and ramp-side entrances for use by visiting dignitaries. The terminals passenger lounge will have floor-to-ceiling glass and a clerestory window allowing sunlight to flow in from the vaulted roof structure. The building will also be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified for its incorporation of green elements including the use of environmentally friendly building products, environmentally sensitive construction practices and overall energy efficiency.
