 News Logan Airport Traffic Advisories; Closures Are To Allow For Continued Construction Of The Central Artery December 20, 2005 I-90 East Exit (Route 1A North) to Route 145, Bennington Street Temporary Ramp Relocation The I-90 East Exit to Route 145, Bennington Street will be temporarily relocated 1000 feet to the southwest (closer to the Callahan and Williams Tunnels) Wednesday morning, December 21, 2005. Motorist on I-90 East, destined for Route 145, Bennington Street, should turn left at the traffic signal at the end of the ramp. Then, motorists destined for Day Square and Chelsea should stay left, and motorists destined for Route 145, Orient Heights, and Winthrop should stay right. Motorists should use caution and pay attention to signs. This temporary ramp relocation is to allow construction of the final Route 1A/ Route 145, Bennington Street interchange. I-90 (MassPike) East Nighttime Highway Closure I-90 (MassPike) East between Exit #22 (Prudential Center/Copley Square) and South Boston will be closed nights Monday, December 19, 2005 thru Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 11:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning, and Friday, December 23, 2005 from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Saturday morning. Direct access to the Ted Williams Tunnel from Frontage Road, and South Boston will remain open. All traffic will be directed off the Turnpike at Copley Square onto Stuart Street. Drivers should follow the posted detour route on Stuart Street, Arlington Street, and Herald Street and continue following the posted detour signs to their destinations, as indicated below: To I-90 East/South Boston/Airport: Turn right onto Albany Street. Continue south on Albany Street and use the Ramp to I-90 East from the Albany Street Connector. Access to I-90 (MassPike) West from Route 1A South Early Morning Ramp Closures Access to I-90 (MassPike) West from Route 1A South will be closed early mornings Wednesday, December 21, and Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 12:01 AM until 5:00 AM (Tuesday and Wednesday nights). Motorists destined to I-90 West will be detoured to the Ted Williams Tunnel via the Airport Access Road and Harborside Drive. I-93 South Exits 24A and B to Government Center and Callahan Tunnel Nighttime Ramp Closure The Exit ramp from I-93 South to Government Center and the Callahan Tunnel (Exit 24 A and Exit 24 B) will be closed at night Monday, December 19, 2005 through Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning and Friday, December 23, 2005 from 11:00 PM until 7:00 the following morning. Motorists will be detoured to Exit 23 Purchase Street or Exit 20A, South Station. From there drivers trying to access Government Center should follow the posted detour via Atlantic Avenue while drivers heading to East Boston and Logan Airport will be detoured to the Ted Williams Tunnel via Seaport Boulevard or Summer Street. |
