News Traffic Engineering/Transportation Planning Services Request for Proposals (RFP) November 18, 2004 The Massachusetts Port Authority (the Authority) is seeking proposals from qualified persons or firms interested in providing consultant services to the Economic Planning and Development Department (EP&D). The deadline for submitting a proposal is December 15 at 3:00 PM. The Consultant will provide on-call traffic engineering, transportation planning & traffic data collection and analysis assistance to Massports EP&D. EP&D assists Logan Airports Aviation Department on a broad range of projects, including: traffic signal analysis on the airport roadway system; curb analysis at the terminals; traffic routing to and from the airport; and general traffic engineering support; data collection and analysis. Consultant assignments will be identified on a work-order basis, with each work order describing the task to be performed, the final product, and the budget. The Consultant will perform assignments under the supervision of the Authoritys Project Manager. The Authority is soliciting competitive proposals pursuant to a determination that such a process best serves the interest of the Authority and not because of any legal requirement to do so. The Authority reserves the right to accept any proposal, to modify or amend, with the consent of the proposer, any proposal prior to acceptance, to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality, all as the Authority in its sole judgment may deem to be in its best interest.
