Tobin Bridge Traffic Advisory; Reduced Lanes on Northbound Level

April 11, 2003

Starting Monday, April 14th at 10:00 p.m., a portion of the lower level roadway (northbound) of the Tobin Bridge will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes. The lane reduction will cover 1900 feet from the CANA Tunnel to the Little Mystic truss (about 600 feet before the old toll plaza). The roadway will widen to three lanes past the truss.

The lane reduction is due to the ongoing Tobin Bridge paint project. Construction crews will install jersey barriers along the lower level's east and west sides to delineate the work area from the two travel lanes.

Drivers should be aware that workers will begin placing the jersey barriers on the bridge's west side on Monday evening.
