 News Big Dig Off-Peak Roadway Closures/Detours September 2, 2003 The Big Dig is implementing some roadway closures and detours this week to accommodate the ongoing construction. Please take note of the detour dates and times so you can plan your trip to and from Logan accordingly. Sumner Tunnel The Sumner Tunnel ramp to I-93 North will be closed off-peak from Tuesday, September 2, 2003 through Friday, September 5, 2003 between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Sumner Tunnel drivers headed to I-93 North will be detoured to Storrow Drive and should follow posted detour signs and use the Leverett Circle on-ramp to I-93 North. Haymarket On-Ramp into the Callahan Tunnel The Haymarket on-ramp into the Callahan Tunnel will be closed during off-peak hours, Thursday, September 4, and Friday, September 5, 2003 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The North Street on-ramp into the Callahan Tunnel will remain open. Drivers on I-93 South should take Exit #24 and follow signs to the North Street entrance into the Callahan Tunnel. Drivers coming from surface streets in the Haymarket area should follow posted detour signs to the North Street entrance into the Callahan Tunnel.
