New Ad Space Mangement for Logan Airport; Multiple Vendors to Develop Additional Revenue Sources

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today announced that Clear Channel Airports will manage advertising at Logan International Airport and other Massport facilities. Massport will also enter into agreements with several other companies to develop niche advertising opportunities at specific locations.

Massport issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) in July 2003 seeking vendors to develop commercial advertising opportunities at Massports facilities. The RFP called for flexibility and creativity to encourage participation and maximize revenues. The staff recommendations came after months of review and research by a cross-functional team of Massport managers.

Massport selected Wall USA, Inc to develop exterior wall information displays and mini-billboards on the airport roadways and Shawmut Media, Inc. and Direct Media, Inc for other advertising at select locations. Massport also selected Airport Marketing, Inc. to develop non-traditional marketing and sponsorship programs for Logan Airport.

The contracts will go into effect in January 2004 and not extend beyond seven years.
