TSA to Federalize Seventh Checkpoint at Logan Security; Half of Airport's Checkpoints Federalized

Transportation Security Administration Security Director George Naccara has advised Massport that the TSA will federalize its seventh checkpoint at Logan International Airport Thursday, October 10, 2002 when they staff Air Tran's gates 1D, 1C and 1E in Terminal D.

Other checkpoints federalized over the past several months include: United gates 11-21, Delta and Midwest Express gate 40-41 and 42 in Terminal C. American gates B4 and B5, America West gates 37-38 and American Eagle gates 22-25 in Terminal B.

TSA officially took over responsibility of airport checkpoints nationally on February 17, 2002.
