The Logan Airport 2001 Environmental Data Report Executive Summary The reports are available in PDF format (requires Acrobat Reader ).

This Boston-Logan International Airport 2001 Environmental Data Report, (2001 EDR) EOEA #3247, describes environmental conditions and mitigation initiatives at Logan Airport in calendar year 2001 for the following categories:

ground transportation

noise

air quality

water quality, and

sustainability

as specified by the Secretary of the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs in his Certificate on the Boston-Logan International Airport 2000 Environmental Data Report.

This 2001 EDR essentially provides a "snapshot" of conditions in 2001 at Logan Airport and compares them to conditions in 2000. This EDR also describes the changes in conditions that resulted from the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and documents the status in 2001 of Massports planning for airport facilities, modernization, operating efficiency and progress on mitigation efforts.

Status reports are also included on:

Passenger levels, aircraft operations, and cargo volumes;

Planning, design, and construction activities; and

Conditions for the key environmental indicators (Ground
Transportation, Noise Abatement, Air Quality, and Water Quality
Management) at Logan Airport for 2001.

as well as reports on Massport's and its tenants' sustainability initiatives and environmental mitigation initiatives.

The document was filed with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) Unit of the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs (EOEA) on December 31, 2002. This comment period runs from January 8, 2003 to February 7, 2003. A public information meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2003 in the HR Training room, Logan Office Center, One Harborside Drive, East Boston (Logan Airport).
