 News Runway Gets State Environmental Approval; Statement From Massport Executive Director And CEO Virginia Buckingham 6/14/2001 "Today marks a victory for the 27 million passengers who use Logan Airport every year. This decision has been a long time coming for those who have missed an important business meeting or their childs birthday party because of delays at Logan. With this seal of approval from the states top environmental official, relief for passengers is closer than ever. This is a milestone achievement and now it is up to the FAA to take the next step. The flying public deserves this runway and I urge the FAA to move quickly on this project. We have an opportunity to slash delays by one-third and knock Logan off of the list of top ten most delayed airports. We have an obligation to take that opportunity and build this runway. |
