Holiday Travel Advisory; Logan International Airport
12/18/2001
Due to heightened security measures and changes in airport procedures, travelers are advised to leave all gifts unwrapped (even in checked baggage). Airline security personnel may open gifts if the X-ray scan cannot determine the contents.
In addition, Massport advises travelers to consider the following travel tips to ensure a safe and smooth trip for the holidays.
- Arrive early. Enhanced airport security measures increase the time needed to check in. Arriving at the airport two hours before your flight's scheduled departure is advisable, however, passengers should consult with their airline for more specific arrival times. Build in even more time at the airport if traveling with young children, infants, or persons with disabilities.
- Parking will be available in the Central Garage. The Terminal B Garage will remain closed but available parking is not expected to be a problem. All parking is now accessed via the arrivals (lower) level roadway.
- Massport suggests that the traveling public consider checking www.massport.com or www.faa.gov for additional detailed travel information. For information on transportation options to and from Logan call 1-800-23-LOGAN.
