 Board Member - Susana M. Segat Susana M. Segat is Deputy Trustee of Local 254 of the Service Employees International Union, responsible for policy and budget setting, staff hiring, leadership development, community outreach and communication. Segat also serves as Political Director of the SEIU Massachusetts State Council where she coordinates political and educational activities for 81,000 members of SEIU locals statewide. Since she first joined the union in 1979, Segat has served in a variety of capacities in Boston and Washington D.C. As Director of the Office Worker Division, Segat is credited with the development of innovative bargaining strategies for addressing such issues as sexual harassment, pay equity, family and medical leave, assault on the job, technological change, and job redesign. Segat is a former member of the Cambridge School Committee and continues to serve as Commissioner and Founding Chair of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. Return to Board Members. |
