Board Member James A. Aloisi, Jr.
Prior to joining Goulston & Storrs, Aloisi served as General Counsel to the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority until 1996. His long history in public service also includes working as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as Chief Legal Counsel to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, and as Assistant Secretary of the Executive Office of Transportation and Construction. Among his most notable achievements, Aloisi was the principal author of landmark legislation to establish the statutory framework for the operation, maintenance, and financing of the Boston Central Artery/Tunnel Project or Big Dig. Aloisi currently serves on a number of boards and commissions including the Massachusetts Transportation Finance Commission, the Advisory Board to the Taubman Center for State and Local Government at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and the Emerson College Board of Trustees. He previously served as a member of the Transportation Reform Commission in 2004, the Artery Business Committee's Funding and Finance Committee, and the Advisory Board for MOVE Massachusetts 2000. He is also a former commissioner of the Human Rights Commission. Aloisi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College, a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School, and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Harvard University.
